Los Ok Che en el Sac Be hacia Yaxunah

Este es el video realizado en la mañana del día 9, donde los Ok Che se han puesto sus zancos y han salido a hacer de las suyas a un lugar muy especial para la comunidad, las ruinas arquelógicas.

Con uds. Lol Ha, capullo de agua, una historia sobre el cenote ubicado en el corazón de la comunidad.

Día 10

Dejando todo listo

Hoy, un día antes de la obra final, las emociones palpitan y todo tiene buena forma.
Comenzamos el trabajo con los niños colocando las hojas de coco en el interior donde se acondicionó el escenario.
Los niños con gran eficiencia ataron las hojas alrededor de las paredes y con ayuda de las luces se creó un mejor ambiente.
Como un hermoso regalo, los niños nos dieron un masaje antes de emprender el ensayo y las energías se equilibraron.
Los maestros de teatro afinaron detalles de la dicción, corporalidad y el manejo de la marioneta.
Mañana es el gran día!!!!

Day 10

Today, a day before the play, emotions are bumping and everything has a good form.

We started working with the kids putting up the coconut leaves inside where the stage will take place.

Very efficiently the kids tied up the leaves around the walls and with the help of the lights we created a much better ambiance. 

With a beautiful present, the kids gave us a massage that balanced out the energies. 

The theater teachers worked on diction details, body language and the handling of puppet. 

Tomorrow is the big day!!!!

El escenario

Amanecer 

Amaneciendo a las ruinas

Filmando a los chavos

Hoy el diá arrancó bien tempranito. A las 5y30 se juntaron los chavos del grupo Ok-Che -pata de palo- de Yaxunah en el Centro Cultural para ir a ver el amanecer a las ruinas. Fueron caminando hasta la entrada a las ruinas, se pusieron los zancos y filmaron junto a Seba una representación en zancos del Sac-be hacia Yaxunah.

Por mi parte me reuní con las niñas que entrenan con los títeres aluxes a las 9y30 en el C.C.C y fuimos en bici hasta las ruinas junto a Manuel (el coordinador del C.C.C.), Seba y otros niños que nos quisieron acompañar. Una vez en las ruinas fuimos hacia el templo “pastel” donde, según los relatos, es donde viven los aluxes. Ahí exploramos y ensayamos un poco con los títeres mientras Seba filmaba para la recopilación de material audiovisual. Ver a las niñas interactuar con sus títeres en su entorno natural, verlas jugar y proponer una idea tras otra fué muy gratificante y divertido, lo hacían solas, naturalmente, yo solo me encargaba de alentarlas.
Luego salimos a explorar un poco mas toda la zona, pero ya sin los títeres y junto a los demás niños que corrían, desaparecían y volvían a aparecer entre los montículos, los templos y los arboles.
Desde que salimos la experiencia fué hermosa: el paseo en bici, la compañía, el paisaje, las mariposas, las nubes viajeras que nos dejaban descansar del sol, las platicas. Lo disfruté mucho realmente.

Nos volvimos a encontrar todos a las 4 pm en el C.C.C, y fuimos directo al grano: a ensayar. Nos separamos según los diferentes fragmentos de la obra. 
Como hay alerta meteorológico y todos los dias llueve por las tardes, no podemos arriesgarnos a seguir ensayando al aire libre y en un escenario que probablemente no sea donde actuarán este sábado. 
Esto generó algunos replanteos en cuanto a las puestas en escena y sobre todo en la escenografía que hasta ahora no se tenia contemplada. Pero todo se fué solucionando en el transcurso de la jornada, los títeres se amoldaron al nuevo espacio y Abraham trabajará con los niños con hojas de coco que recolectaron entre sus casas para la escenografía. En medio y al final de la jornada montamos todo lo que estuvimos ensayando por separado, dentro de la palapa. Notamos un gran avance entre el primer y segundo ensayo “general”.
Ya se ve claro el camino. 
Sin duda la ida a las ruinas nos motivo e inspiró mucho a todos.

Day 9

Today the day started very early. At 5:30am the kids from the group Ok-Che –stick leg- of Yaxunah got together in the Cultural Centre to go and watch the sunrise at the ruins. They walked up to the entrance of the ruins, put up their stilts and they film along Sebas a representation in stilts about Sac-be to Yaxunah.

I met with the girls at 9:30am at the CCC and we went by bike to the ruins along Manuel (Coordinator of the CCC) also with Sebas and other kids that wanted to come along. Once we were in the ruins we went to the temple of “Pastel,” were according to the accounts this is where the aluxes live.

There we explored and rehearse a bit with the puppets whiles Sebas was shooting and collecting images. To see the girls interact with their puppets in their natural surroundings, and see them play one idea after the other was so gratifying and fun, they were doing it alone, naturally, I was just in charge of encouraging them.

After we went to explore the area, without the puppets and with the other kids that were running around, they were appearing and disappearing between the mounds, temples and trees.

We got all toghether again at 4pm at the CCC and we went right to business: To rehearse.  We split by the different fragments of the play.

Because there is a weather warning so we can not rehearse outside because the play will take place in doors due to the weather.

This made us re-planned the show and more than anything the stage design.  Up to now we had not thought about it.  But everything started to become more clear throughout the day, the puppets got used to the new space and Abraham will work with coconut leaves that were collected by the kids and they will be used for the stage. During the middle and the end of the day we weave together what we had been rehearsing alone, inside the palapa. We saw that we advanced a lot between the first and second rehearsal.

The path is clear.

And certainly the ruins motivated and inspired all of us.

Dia 8

Comenzando a hacer la escenografía

Aluxes casi listos

Hoy comenzamos el día con una gratificante sesión de masajes y estiramiento corporal. Les explicamos la importancia de esta actividad antes y después de ejercitar su cuerpo, se lo recalcamos particularmente ya que aquí los niños del centro cultural practican acrobacias en sancos y muchas veces entrenan solos.
Los ejercicios fueron de a dos para trabajar la integración, el ritmo, el compañerismo y para perder la pena del cuerpo propio y ajeno.
Luego nos separamos en grupos:
Edel se fué con los chavos mas grandes a sacar fotografías estenopeicas por el pueblo (con las latas que ya habían preparado anteriormente) y dentro del C.C.C fotografiaron a los titeres aluxes entre las plantas y los árboles que junto a la rusticidad de ésta técnica los resultados fueron unos retratos misteriosos y alquímicos.
Seba se fué al Cenote a trabajar con los niños que participaron de la filmación, les pidió que escribieran sobre sus sentires y sensaciones al entrar al cenote, los niños respondieron muy bien, se sentaron a solas en distintos lugares, se dejaron envolver por la energía y la humedad del lugar, se los veía concentrados y en paz. Escribieron todo en español pero luego lo grabaron en su lengua materna. 
Paralelamente Abraham sigue trabajando con los titeres, arreglando y modificando lo que los niños ya hicieron. Siempre está rodeado de niños que lo quieren ayudar o de aluxes al grito de “doctor doctor, se me salió un brazo!”
Por último, Fernando y yo nos encargamos de los ensayos de los diferentes fragmentos de la obra. 
Los chavos son muy capaces, cualquier cosa que les proponemos lo resuelven y superan muy fácilmente, pero en este día en particular todos coincidimos en que la energía estaba un poco baja y dispersa, creo que un poco se debe al espacio, no es tan facil mantenerlos concentrados en un espacio tan amplio y lleno de plantas, mariposas, niños que van y vienen, etc. Sin embargo siempre se muestran dispuestos y ya se ve como todo va tomando mejor forma.
Después del receso, en el momento de la meditación trabajamos haciendo dos mandalas colectivos, los resultados fueron grandes explosiones de formas y colores. Cuando estábamos terminando se cortó la luz y se veía inminente el aguacero, ésto nos limitaba demasiado asi que Fernando decidió, con mucha razón, terminar el día ahí. Todos se fueron corriendo ante las primeras gotas de lluvia.

Day 8

Today we started the day with a rewarding massage and stretching session.  We explained the importance of these before and after excersing, we emphasized this because here the kids practice stunts in stilts and a lot of the times they train by themselves.  The exercises were in twos in order to work integration, rhythm, partnership and also to feel more comfortable with their own bodies and others. After we split in groups:

Edel went out with the older kids to do pinhole photography around town (with the cans that they had prepared prior to the excursion) and also around the CCC.  They photographed the puppets and the aluxes surrounded by bushes and trees because of the technique the portraits look mysterios and alchemical.

Sebas went to the Cenote to work with the kids that participated in the shooting, he asked them to write about how they felt when went in the cenote, the kids responded very well, they sat alone in different places, they let themselves be taken by the energy and humidity of the place, you could see that they were concentrated and in peace. They wrote everything in Spanish but they recorded in their mother tongue.

Parallel to him Abraham continues working on the puppets, fixing and modifying what the kids had done.  He is always surrounded by kids that want to help him or by aluxes yelling “doctor, doctor I just lost and arm!”

Last but not least Fernando and I are in charge of the rehearsals of the different fragments of the play.

The kids are very able, anything that we propose to them, they solve it and surpass it easily, but in this day we all agree that the energy was low and disperse, I think it has to do with the space, it isn’t easy to keep them focus in such a big space, full of plants, butterflies, kids that come and go, etc. However they are always ready to work and we can see that everything is taking form.

After recess, during meditation we worked on making two collective mandalas, the results were great explosions of forms and colors.  When we were finishing there was a black out and a storm was coming, this was very limiting so Fernando decided, being right, to stop the day right there. Everyone run home under the first drops of rain.
